Welcome to my garden

There are so many jewels in my garden... rich soil, flowers, veggies and herbs, birds, butterflies, hummingbirds, ladybugs, seeds sprouting, the sound of the water fountain, but the best jewels are family and friends when they join me in the garden and share in the peace and beauty of what our Heavenly Father has provided me with. So many jewels, so many blessings. Julie +: )

Updates on Bob and Michelle

Bob~

Bob and Sylvia are waiting on the results of the biopsies from Friday's procedure. Going into the bronchial tube, the surgeon also found a mass in his vocal cord. So we wait and cling to hope knowing that the healing power of our Heavenly Father is beyond our expectations.

Michelle~

Michelle's 3rd round of chemo is done. She was doing fairly well until Sunday night when the pain set in. The last two nights and days have been rough for her but she is slowly regaining her strength and energy.

These are difficult times for us. The most difficult ever for me... finding out my little girl has cancer, watching her go through chemo, seeing her in pain. It weighs heavy on my heart.

But I have to thank God, praise Him with a thankful heart. He protects us from dangers we are unaware of. He created us and He knows what is going on in every inch of our bodies, even all the hairs of our head are counted. (luke 12:7)

We have to pay attention to our bodies and be attentive to signs of trouble and act on them. Why did Michelle find a lump in her breast? Because God is watching over her. What if she hadn't found it? What if she didn't have it checked? What condition would she be in now? I can't bring myself to think of that possibility. I don't have to... and I give thanks to God for that.

Why did Bob have such a persistent cough? Because God is watching over him. What if he had ignored it and not have it checked out? What if the mass in his bronchial tube was there to give his surgeon a reason to go in and to find the one in his vocal cord?

Even though we have many trials come our way, we have even more joy. We just have to look around and see it. I see it in my daughter's smile, in the angelic faces of all of my grandchildren and the warm hugs I get from them, in the way my sons' hearts are full of love for their families, when my children are in the kitchen cooking with me or on mother's day when I sit back and watch my sons in the kitchen cooking a meal for me and their wives, and that is coming up by the way!

I have joy when my husband and I grill outside no matter what kind of weather, when my brother and his wife invite us over for breakfast after church on Sundays, when my sisters and I get together for dinner, when my niece and I have our silly converstions, when my best friend and I spend the day together cause we're both retired, when my purdyful friends and I get together and the laughter begins...

I could go on and on listing all that brings joy into my life. This is how I get through the difficult times. God has blessed me with a beautiful family and amazing friends, even strangers, to help through the rough times.

Peace In The Garden

Devotions by Sarah Young

Enjoying Peace in His Presence

Jesus calling

I have promised to meet all your needs

according to My glorious riches.

Your deepest, most constant need is for My Peace.

I have planted Peace in the garden of your heart,

where I live;

but there are weeds growing there too:

pride, worry, selfishness, unbelief.

I am the Gardener,

and I am working to rid your heart of those weeds.

I do My work in various ways.

When you sit quietly with Me,

I shine the Light of My Presence directly into your heart.

In this heavenly Light,

Peace grows abundantly and weeds shrivel up.

I also send trials into your life.

When you trust Me in the midst of trouble,

Peace flourishes and weeds die away.

Thank Me for troublesome situations;

the Peace they can produce

far outweighs the trials you endure.

I love you,

Jesus
