Welcome to my garden

There are so many jewels in my garden... rich soil, flowers, veggies and herbs, birds, butterflies, hummingbirds, ladybugs, seeds sprouting, the sound of the water fountain, but the best jewels are family and friends when they join me in the garden and share in the peace and beauty of what our Heavenly Father has provided me with. So many jewels, so many blessings. Julie +: )

In the Garden- A Collection of Prayers for Everyday

To quote this favorite book of mine by Marsha Mauer on election day:

The Shovel- A Prayer for our Country

Our nation's prosperity began with shovels, God. It took hard work and the courageous lives of many before us to build homes, to plant crops, to establish lives and government.

We say we love our country, God, but are we willing to work to maintain our nation's liberties? We say we value representative government, but in how many elections do we vote? We say we value democratic process, but how informed are we about local, state, and national issues? We say we value freedom of speech, but how often do we express our views to elected officials or to local media? We say we value education, but how often do we participate in the activities of nearby schools? We say we value justice, but how often do we try to evade jury duty?

May we see the importance of excercising our love for our country. Give wisdom and sound judgement to our officials, our press, our educators, our law enforcement officials, our armed forces. Encourage us to participate in our government. Let us dig in to sustain the freedoms we enjoy. Amen

"Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people He chose for His inheritance."
Psalm 33:12

Hope everyone voted today.
